Ava Boston (SY ’26) is a molecular, cellular, and developmental biology major pursuing certificates in Global Health and Spanish on the pre-med track. She moved frequently growing up but is most recently from Virginia. Ava is passionate about working to improve sexual, maternal, and reproductive health for Latines, immigrants, and marginalized groups in Latin America and the U.S. She is also interested in implementing pluralistic healthcare systems that maintain and honor Indigenous medical knowledge and practices while also building peace between different cultural communities. She volunteers as an EMT at Echo Hose Ambulance Corps and serves as the deputy chief of operations for Yale Emergency Medical Services. She is also a co-director of patient services at the HAVEN Free Clinic and a peer liaison for La Casa Cultural at Yale. On campus, she is the co-director of STEM and Health Equity Advocates and works as a researcher in the Chang Lab on telomere biology. In her free time, she loves hiking, running, reading, and spending time with friends.
