Chris Hogestyn is an MPP candidate at the Jackson School of Global Affairs and an active-duty Army officer. She has served in multiple units and supported Operation Southern Guardian along the U.S.-Mexico border, as well as the 82nd Airborne Division’s Immediate Response Force. In her most recent assignment, Chris commanded an airborne field artillery battery. Her experience leading troops and countering complex threats while enduring the effects of a military recruiting crisis drew her to study force management.
Her academic interests include civil-military relations, national security, education, and labor policy. Chris’ next assignment after completing her studies at Yale is as a rotating faculty member in the West Point Department of Social Sciences, teaching American politics. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy and speaks fluent French.
