Danielle Frankel (ES ‘26) is a global affairs major passionate about healthcare innovation and systems improvement. She grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, but is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. Her interest in healthcare began to develop through hearing her mother’s stories of examining patients on the floors of Johannesburg’s overwhelmed and under-resourced public hospitals during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The COVID-19 pandemic further motivated her to delve into global health. Danielle is currently a research assistant at the Yale Institute for Global Health, where she works to examine the effectiveness of a digital-first care model for Ugandan patients with heart failure. She is fascinated by the unique approaches to healthcare delivery, especially in low-income, remote settings. On campus, Danielle serves as co-president of Partners in Health Engage at Yale, part of a larger student network that seeks to support the global right to health through advocacy, fundraising, and education. In addition, she is the head of non-profit consulting at the Urban Philanthropic Fund, prepares taxes for low-income New Haveners through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and is involved in Jewish life on campus. In her free time, Danielle enjoys dancing, spending time in nature with friends, and hanging out with her three younger sisters.
