David Salgado is a Master of Advanced Study (M.A.S.) candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs, where he is interested in exploring the challenges and opportunities posed by the intersection of foreign policy, diplomacy and emergent technologies.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in international security. As a career diplomat with the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has experience in the fields of human rights, communications and diplomacy. Prior to joining Yale, he served for five years at the Colombian General Consulate in Santiago de Chile, where he led the consulate’s first response to the pandemic and supported consular affairs, grounded in an “open doors” policy that emphasized accessibility and responsiveness to the public.
