David Foster (GH ’23) is a Political Science major from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has a particular interest in applying design thinking principles to solve global healthcare problems through user-centered product and program design. David has utilized this approach on a team creating an innovative COVID contact tracing system, at a startup fighting pharmaceutical counterfeiting, and when designing an outdoor exercise course at the Ritsona refugee camp in Greece. As a member of the LGBTQ community, David recognizes the importance of equity in Global Health work, and he is a passionate advocate for inclusive sex education. When not in class, you can find him at the Center for Engineering, Innovation, and Design; figure skating at Ingalls rink; or volunteering on a political campaign. David loves theater, traveling to new places, and painting custom phone cases!
