Eunjung Irene Oh, originally from Seoul, South Korea, graduated from Rice University in 2015 with a B.A. in Asian studies. While at Rice, Irene interned at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan and studied abroad in Russia under the Wagoner Foreign Study Scholarship. Following graduation, she returned to Korea and served in the Republic of Korea Armed Forces as an Air Force Officer. At the Air Force Logistics Command, Irene was responsible for managing a global supply chain to provide materiel and maintenance support for critical Air Force assets. She also worked at the Ministry of National Defense as a defense policy officer, where she helped to strengthen bilateral and multilateral defense technology cooperation between Korea and its allies. Following her military service, she worked for a global manufacturing company as a business development manager, covering the Southeast Asian region. At Yale, Irene plans to further explore her interest in national and international security, particularly in the fields of counter-terrorism and transnational crime.
