Hanifah Ouro-Sama (Davenport ‘26) is a molecular biophysics and biochemistry major from Dover, Delaware. She is an aspiring physician interested in health equity, primary care, maternal and reproductive health, health policy, and the history of medicine. Currently, she works as a student research assistant at the Yale School of Public Health, coordinating community outreach and partnership development for a PhRMA-funded program seeking to improve participation of underrepresented populations in clinical trials. She also supports an NIGMS funded systems intervention to mitigate sepsis disparities, assisting with qualitative interviews and data analysis. On campus, she plans and hosts events for first-year students at the Yale Afro-American Cultural Center, helps high school students navigate college admissions through Matriculate College Advising, and is on the boards of the Yale African Innovation Symposium and Black Solidarity Conference. And in her free time, she enjoys thrifting, reading, making playlists, and playing and watching soccer.
