Jessica Tomlinson is a Master in Public Policy (MPP) in global affairs candidate at Yale Jackson School. Prior to Yale, she worked for two years in the UK House of Lords as an academic and parliamentary researcher for Lord Robert Skidelsky. In this role, she conducted research in Russian and Eastern European affairs, international relations, economics, technology policy, and East Asian history and politics.

Jessica graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First Class with Distinction in Modern Languages (Russian and Spanish). She spent the 2019-20 academic year at Saint Petersburg State University. A keen linguist, Jessica speaks Russian and Spanish with full proficiency and French and Portuguese at an intermediate level. 

At Yale, Jessica intends to pursue a varied course of study situated at the nexus of the 3 ‘D’s—diplomacy, development, and defense—as well as continuing to develop her specialism in policy and peace building in the post-Soviet space.
