Julianne Harwood (SY ‘26) is double majoring in economics and history, with a certificate in global health studies. Her interest in global health developed from her fascination with improving economic accounting methods and their influence on policymaking. Julianne works as a research assistant for the Environmental Performance Index, conducting literature reviews and quantitative analysis to understand the impact of environmental exposure to unsafe drinking water and sanitation practices on population health. Additionally, she works as a virtual intern for the Human Rights division of the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Perú.
On campus, Julianne is a Saybrook College aide and FOOT leader, as well as a board member of the Yale Undergraduate Prison Project and a member of the Yale Historical Review. In her free time, Julianne enjoys running, reading, and working on her various ongoing craft projects including knitting and pottery.
