Matthew Blair is a junior in Benjamin Franklin College from Manchester, New Hampshire. He is a history of science, medicine, and public health major on the pre-medical track. Matthew is particularly interested in the intersection between the sciences and the humanities, with the understanding that medicine is not only a scientific pursuit but also a human art. At Yale, Matthew is a writer, scope editor, and archivist for the Yale Scientific Magazine, the nation’s oldest college science publication. He is a campus outreach committee leader in the Yale Public Health Coalition, where he focuses on promoting positive mental health practices and connectivity among the student body. Matthew also performs research in the Schalper Lab at the Yale School of Medicine, studying non-small cell lung cancer. In his free time, Matthew plays club ice hockey and works as a campus tour guide.
