Parth Shah is a first-year Master in Public Policy candidate at the Jackson School of Global Affairs interested in climate, particularly in the context of development and in trends of democratic backsliding and economic inequality. He holds broad and deep experience in both the private and multilateral sectors.
Before Yale, Parth worked for the private-sector arm of the World Bank Group, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), to enhance project development in tough-to-penetrate markets. He helped establish and manage IFC’s early-stage co-investment product, a critical priority for the institution. He also worked on projects ranging from venture capital investment in the Middle East, developing an infrastructure asset recycling playbook, and green buildings in Latin America.
Prior to the World Bank Group, Parth served in Accenture’s Strategy division, in which he advised senior executives across industries on critical issues. In this capacity, he primarily counseled clients on wind and solar energy investment — leading to the operation of a 400mw Midwestern wind plant — and on customer strategy. He developed expertise ranging from financial analysis to industry-specific knowledge in the renewables, utilities, pharmaceutical, and telecom sectors.
Parth earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, with interests in development and inequality. These interests arose due to his early life in India, where he lived until age eight before growing up in the Chicagoland area.
