Patryk Dabek (ES '25) is an economics and molecular biology double major from East Rutherford, New Jersey. Growing up in an immigrant community, his interest in health and policy lies in expanding healthcare access within underserved communities and increasing medical transparency to combat misinformation and ultimately guide patients through a tangled healthcare system. During his freshman year, he co-founded Smiles of Solidarity, an international nonprofit providing humanitarian relief to communities in Ukraine through partnerships with local leaders and the oral health industry. He has also worked on legislative policy at The White House to expand access to treatment for substance use disorders and with the Connecticut General Assembly to advocate for community programs aimed at the root causes of youth gun violence. On campus, Patryk is the chief of service for Yale EMS and leads United Students for Veterans Health, a volunteer group striving to enrich the lives of veterans through art and talk therapy at the West Haven Medical Center. In his free time, Patryk enjoys watercolor painting, playing beach volleyball, and baking.
