Pete Nelson is a JD/MPP candidate at Yale. He served six years as a Marine Corps intelligence officer with tours in infantry units, special operations, and strategic intelligence. In 2020, he deployed to Iraq with a counter-ISIS special operations unit. More recently, he managed three multi-million-dollar programs at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Prior to his military service, Pete spent two years in New York City as a management consultant. He also worked on political campaigns in Virginia and New Hampshire. Pete holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard, is a native of Vermont, and speaks conversational French. He hopes to work in national security, political advocacy, or election law after graduation.
