Sarah Coughlin is a first-year joint MPP/MBA degree candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs and the Yale School of Management. At Yale, she hopes to explore actionable pathways to build equitable and climate resilient food systems.

Before graduate school, Sarah spent three years working in agricultural development policy implementation and research at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At J-PAL, she managed a research initiative that evaluates the potential of digital services in low and middle-income countries to boost small-scale farmers’ productivity and profits. Prior to that, she spent a season working on a small-scale organic farm, after having managed citywide emergency food access programs during the COVID-19 pandemic at the YMCA of Greater Boston.

Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with degrees in political science and global studies.
