Seiyoon Ko is a Master in Public Policy candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs focusing on technology policy. At Jackson, she seeks to deepen her understanding of AI governance and the relationship between society and algorithms. She aspires to contribute to the field of technology policy and is eager to bring regional insights from her work across Asia.
Seiyoon brings four years of experience at global technology companies including TikTok, NCSOFT, and most recently at LY Corporation (LINE-Yahoo). Operating across key markets including Thailand, Taiwan, and Korea, she worked on initiatives in ad monetization strategy, project management, and public policy. These experiences gave her a well-rounded perspective on industry dynamics spanning ad-serving algorithms, revenue pipelines, and regulatory challenges. Working at platform companies integral to the daily lives of people worldwide, Seiyoon experienced firsthand the immense reach of digital platforms and became passionate about technology's impact on society. Hoping to bridge the public and private sectors, she also served as a youth policy advisor for Korea's Ministry of Science & ICT.
Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Seiyoon graduated summa cum laude from Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations and a minor in sociology.
