Sho Masuda is an MAS candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs, where he focuses on leveraging data-driven insights to shape innovation policies and strategic decisions across both public and private sectors.
Prior to Yale, Sho served at the Bank of Japan, the nation’s central bank, where he built deep expertise in international finance and regulatory policy. He led the supervision of major global financial institutions and played a pivotal role in analyzing the implications of evolving regulatory frameworks, particularly in areas of digital finance. He also represented Japan in high-level negotiations with the Federal Reserve, Bank of England and European Central Bank, advancing global regulatory discussions.
Sho holds a master’s degree from University College London, where he specialized in the intersection of innovation and regulation. He earned his bachelor's degree in law from Keio University, developing rigorous analytical reasoning grounded in civil law. Born and raised in Hong Kong and Shanghai, Sho is fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese.
