Vaibhav Dutt is a Master in Public Policy (MPP) candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. With eight years of experience at the intersection of law, public policy, and technology, he has collaborated with non-profits, international consultancies, and start-ups across India, Africa, and the UK. Vaibhav currently brings expertise from Athena Infonomics, where he managed projects for the Gates Foundation, developing data platforms and improving urban governance and service delivery across Asia and Africa.
Previously, at Belongg, he led a successful Gates Grand Challenge and developed an AI-powered research inclusion tool. As a co-founder of a social impact startup, he secured early-stage funding and delivered monitoring and evaluation projects for the World Bank. At Fields of View, he worked extensively with state and local governments in India, Tata Trusts, and the Dutch Science Foundation, building simulations and participatory tools for policy research.
Vaibhav has conducted policy work in fields including sustainable urban development, data governance, social protection, digital rights, and climate resilience. He designs game-based workshops and decision-support tools for diverse partners, from tech firms and government agencies to community organizations, focusing on evidence-driven, participatory approaches that bridge technology and policy.
At Yale, he aims to strengthen his quantitative and analytical skills to support rigorous policy evaluation and broaden his expertise in sustainable policymaking and regulatory governance. Vaibhav holds a degree in law from National Law University, Delhi.
