Vestal McIntyre is Communications Director at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. He joined Yale Jackson in May 2025 after leading communications for the Yale Economic Growth Center and for Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) at Harvard Kennedy School.

As a social science writer, McIntyre has edited for development economics research centers at Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and the Paris School of Economics, helping translate complex research into accessible insights for global audiences. He has co-written articles that have appeared in The New York Times, The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, VoxDev, and other outlets.

As a fiction writer, McIntyre is the author of the story collection You Are Not the One and the novel Lake Overturn, which was named an Editors’ Choice by The New York Times Book Review, a Washington Post Best Book of 2009, and winner of both the Grub Street National Book Prize and a Lambda Literary Award. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, and taught creative writing at the University of Northampton in the UK.
