Yuzu Kobe is an MPP candidate at the Jackson School of Global Affairs interested in U.S. foreign policy, with a focus on its relations with domestic politics. 

Yuzu is a public servant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, specializing in American affairs. Prior to attending Yale, she worked for Japan’s relations with Asian countries, especially for the ASEAN-Japan relations. She was responsible for East Asia Summit, for which she drafted and negotiated various speeches and statements in close coordination with counterparts both outside and inside the country. She also helped to organize G7 Hiroshima Summit, issuing multiple press releases. 

Yuzu grew up in Tokyo, Japan and graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2021, with a Bachelor of Law. During her undergraduate studies, she engaged in volunteer activities in Myanmar with local students.
