Ziad Reslan is a Senior Fellow with the Schmidt Program on Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Technologies, and National Power. He is a writer, attorney and policy expert whose work spans tech policy, fighting online abuse and human rights. He is currently a member of the product policy staff at OpenAI and, before that, he spent six years at Google leading different product policy areas including countering mis/disinformation, advocating for child safety and leading multimodal GenAI product policies including frontier models.
Before Google, Ziad was an attorney at Davis Polk, based in New York and Hong Kong, focused on anti-corruption investigations. From 2015 to 2020, he chaired the board of Urban Light, a Thai-based NGO that helps boys who have been trafficked. Ziad is an Emirates Leadership Fellow at Harvard's Center for Public Leadership and holds a JD from Osgoode Hall in Toronto and an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School.
