Student-led Research

Policy Briefs

The Global Health Studies Program provides senior undergraduates with opportunities to deepen their intellectual training and apply their skills to real-world problems.

In the practicum component of the Senior Global Health Colloquium, students work with Jackson’s global health faculty and with clients to analyze significant concerns in global health leadership and policymaking. Clients are drawn from government and non-governmental organizations, non-profits, multilateral development organizations, and global health agencies.

After conducting interviews, research, and analysis, the teams produce policy briefs establishing their key findings and recommendations. These publications reflect this work.

In 2024, four policy briefs focused on:

  • Sustainable Investment in the African Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Arts-Based Interventions for Humanitarian Workers
  • Financing the HIV/AIDS Response in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Intergenerational Pathways to Peace: Putting Children First
